What Children Learn in Our Football Lessons

⚽ FOOTBALL SKILLS

Children develop key technical abilities such as ball control, dribbling, passing, receiving, and shooting with accuracy. They also learn how to use different parts of the foot and apply their skills in small-sided games.

🏃 FITNESS & AGILITY

Each session includes dynamic warm-ups, cool-downs, and activities that build speed, balance, endurance, and coordination through fun, engaging games.

🤝 LIFE & SOCIAL SKILLS

Children make new friends, communicate and work as part of a team, and build confidence, resilience, and a growth mindset by learning from challenges and mistakes.

FAQs

  • What happens after the course has finished?

Our courses run year-round in most locations. Once you have secured a place, you will have priority to continue onto the next course. We’ll keep you updated as the course progresses about when you need to do this

  • Do sessions run during the holidays?

We will always try to run all of our courses on consecutive weeks. On occasion, due to circumstances out of our control there may be reasons that sessions have to be cancelled or moved onto an alternative playing surface. If a class is cancelled, it will be added onto the end of the course. All changes will be sent via text message.

  • What is ‘Tournament Week’ and how does it work?

Every 4 weeks, we run a tournament night, giving everyone the chance to put their training into practice.

Coaches will split teams as evenly as possible and they will compete in matches for the evening. We want to encourage children to develop a desire to win, whilst avoiding a win at all cost mentality. Points are awarded during the tournament, for not only winning games but also for things like: Teamwork, communication, encouraging each other, using new skills, finding space etc.

  • Will there be scouts watching the sessions?

Our coaches are aware of the standard players need to be at, to be considered for a trial at a professional club. Scouts prefer to watch children play without pressure and see how they usually perform, so if you do see a scout watching a session, please don’t notify your children.
