Involving Parents and Carers Policy

  1. Purpose

At First Kick Football, we recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that every child is happy, healthy, and safe whilst in our care. We comply with the EYFS 2023 (paras 3.27, 3.40–3.41) and the Equality Act 2010. 

  1. Roles & Responsibilities

– Operations Director – ensures communication systems and parental engagement meet national requirements.
– Office Team – send out welcome emails, hold policy access, and respond to parental queries.
– Holiday Club Manager – liaises with parents on site and shares relevant information about children’s day-to-day experiences.
– All Staff – greet parents, share feedback about their child, and respect parental input. 

  1. Communication with Parents

We keep parents and carers informed by:
– Sending a welcome email on registration, including key information and selected policies.
– Making all policies available on our website.
– Providing key information on children’s activities, accidents, and wellbeing at collection.
– Offering staff availability for discussions with parents where needed.
– Using phone and email for contact outside Club hours. 

  1. 4. Parental Involvement

We welcome and encourage parental involvement by:
– Collecting information from parents via Registration and Medical Forms.
– Consulting with parents to meet the needs of children with additional needs.
– Inviting parents to share specialist skills, knowledge, or assist on outings where appropriate.
– Conducting regular parental feedback surveys to improve provision. 

  1. Permissions

We obtain parental consent for activities such as outings, photographs, applying sun cream, and any other activity requiring consent. 

  1. Complaints and Feedback

We respect parents’ views and respond promptly and appropriately to concerns, in line with our Complaints Policy. 

  1. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if required by legislation or following feedback.
