At First Kick Football, we are committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all children and families. We recognise and celebrate diversity and ensure that every child, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), has equal access to high-quality play, learning, and development opportunities.
This policy is aligned with the Children and Families Act 2014, Equality Act 2010, SEND Code of Practice 2015, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2024), and the Childcare Register requirements.
2. Aims and Objectives
- Provide an inclusive environment where all children feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Ensure children with SEND have their needs identified early and are given appropriate support.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals to promote the best outcomes.
- Remove barriers to participation, learning, and enjoyment.

4. Identifying SEND
Children’s needs may fall within the following categories:
- Communication and interaction
- Cognition and learning
- Social, emotional and mental health
- Sensory and/or physical needs
Needs are identified through:
– Parent/carer communication
– Observations and assessments during activities
– Liaison with schools or other professionals (with consent)
5. Inclusive Practice
- Provision, activities, and resources are adapted to meet individual needs.
- The environment is accessible, calm, and flexible.
- Staff are trained in inclusive practices and receive regular CPD.
- Activities are differentiated to ensure access and enjoyment.
- Children are supported to build social relationships and join group activities.
6. Working in Partnership
We work closely with:
– Parents/carers to share strategies and progress.
– Schools, SENCOs, health professionals, and local authority SEND services.
We always seek parental consent before sharing information and comply with data protection (GDPR).
7. Reasonable Adjustments

8. Roles and Responsibilities
- SENDCo – Dana Aubrey-Williams: oversees SEND provision, supports staff, liaises with agencies, and coordinates support plans.
- HR & Coaching Performance Manager (Danny Nolan) – ensures staff are trained to meet inclusion and coaching standards.
- Holiday Club Manager (Lee Galloway) – ensures inclusive practice across all holiday clubs.
- All staff – promote inclusion and identify concerns early.
9. Transitions and Support
We support smooth transitions by:
– Gathering information from parents, carers, and schools.
– Using visual supports and transition plans.
– Familiarisation sessions and visual timetables.
10. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or following legislative changes. Effectiveness is monitored through staff, parent, and child feedback. Feedback is welcomed to inform improvements.
11. Complaints
Concerns should first be raised informally with the club manager or SENDCo. If unresolved, the formal Complaints Procedure should be followed.
