1. Purpose
This policy sets out First Kick Football’s approach to additional activities provided at our settings, including but not limited to: NERF games, Laser Tag, Bouncy Castles and Inflatables, and other Special Event Activities. Its purpose is to ensure parents, carers, and participants understand and accept the risks involved in these activities.
2. Risks and Acknowledgement
- Risks and dangers exist in the use of equipment (e.g., NERF blasters, laser tag kits, inflatables).
- Participation may result in injury or illness.
- Risks may arise from accidents, negligence, weather conditions, equipment failure, or the actions of others.
- By taking part, parents/carers and participants accept these risks and agree that First Kick Football cannot guarantee complete safety.
3. Protective Measures
- Eye protection must be worn at all times for NERF and Laser Tag activities.
- Inflatable use will only proceed if weather conditions and risk assessments confirm safety.
- Children must follow staff instructions at all times.
- Parents/carers must inform staff of any relevant medical conditions before participation.
4. Release of Liability
Parents/carers agree to release, waive, and hold harmless First Kick Football, its directors, managers, staff, volunteers, and assistants from all claims, actions, or losses for injury, illness, property damage, or other consequences arising from participation in these activities.
5. Consent
By booking and checking the consent box on the First Kick Football booking portal, parents/carers confirm they:
- Understand and accept the risks of participation.
- Consent to their child’s involvement in these special event activities.
- Acknowledge that First Kick Football has taken reasonable steps to provide a safe environment.
6. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if activities change or legislation requires updates.
